LGBT+ Groups in the South West

2BU
We established a youth support group back in 2003. The vision was simple, to try and make a difference for LGBTQ+ young people and in addition to raise awaresness of what many young people faced in coming to terms with their gender of sexual identity. We sought to bring on board other adults and professionals across Somerset who would join with us in saying confidently ‘It’s okay 2BU’.

Galapagos @ The Huddle
A parent and child group for LGBTQ+ families. 4th Thursday of the month 12.30-2. No matter what your journey to parenthood has been (or is). Kizzy invites you to meet at their monthly group in Yeovil Town centre. Toys and resources are suitable for children 0-4yrs. Parents of older children are welcome (with or without their child/ren). Feeding Support – Parent support – Meet other parents – loose part play. Partner/supporting adult always welcome.

GayWest
We were formally set up in 1982 but our roots go back to April 1970, making us one of the longest surviving LGBT groups in the UK. In the 1970’s the group campaigned strongly for homosexual equality; and later it was recognised to be more of an independent support and social group covering Bristol, Bath and surrounding areas.

Taunton Gay Group
Taunton Gay Group creates free, social meet-up opportunities for people under the LGBTQ+ umbrella to connect, make friends and feel less isolated. TGG posts events that bring people together in a local venue and time (like a pop up gay pub), including lunchtime/coffee socials, local events end evening pub meet-ups. Anyone within reach or visiting the area welcome to just come along.

Weymouth Gay Group
TEN years ago….. a small group of us discovered that nothing was happening in Weymouth for gay and bi guys (and other lgbt people). So we made it happen! Just meeting informally once a week in a corner of a pub… and we still do today, but now TWICE a week! OK, different pubs, and sometimes 30 plus of us, not just the 4 or 5 originals of years ago. We just like to chat, have a drink, or meal, and meet new people…. we found that other guys liked the same. We have enjoyed the company of a full range of LGBTQI (and straight) people joining our events over the past 10 years, presently we are mainly a male gay/bi/straight group, but we welcome diversity!
