We know what you might be thinking – really?! Does a Pride event need T&Cs?
Due to organising this event at such short notice, we have been unable to apply for the various licences and permissions needed from different authorities for certain things. This is why the event is quite low-key and limited in what we can offer, although we hope the community appreciates the effort we’ve gone to ensuring that Yeovil still has a Pride at all this year. Other rules are in place to reduce risks of accidents and injuries, and for the comfort of those attending.
By registering and claiming a ticket for Yeovil Does Pride, you are agreeing to abide by the following:
🎟 Treat others with kindness and respect
We’d like to think this goes without saying, but let’s set the standard now – we will not accept any abusive behaviour and expect everyone to treat each other with kindness and respect. This is a safe and inclusive space and we believe in Equality for All. You can read more about what we mean by that here.
🎟 Keep everyone as safe as possible
We really want you to be able to join us for Yeovil Does Pride, but if you have any of the symptoms below or feel unwell please stay home to protect other people.
- New continuous cough
- High temperature (above 37.8)
- A loss or change to your sense of taste or smell
🎟 Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult for both events
By claiming a ticket you are certifying that you are over 16. If you are under 16, please ask the adult that you will be attending with to claim your ticket when they register for theirs.
At Ninesprings
🎟 No BBQs or open flames
There is a designated BBQ area in Yeovil Country Park but this is some way away from where our event is being held and we cannot control what happens in other areas of the park. Please do not bring any disposable barbeques, camping stoves etc to the picnic.
🎟 No alcohol or illegal substances
There’s not much we need to say about the latter, but in order to have alcohol at our event we would need licences that need applying for much further in advance than we had notice for. Please support us by not bringing alcohol, which could get us in trouble with local authorities and impact our ability to put on events like this in the future.
🎟 No temporary structures, gazebos etc
Just bring a blanket and your food; we’re certain that’s all you’ll need for a good time! If getting up and down from the floor is an issue for you, you are welcome to bring a camping chair but otherwise let’s keep our celebration down to earth – literally. We need to pack away quickly once the event comes to an end.
🎟 No smoking or vaping
Yes we know we’re outside, but this rule is in place to further reduce the risk of a fire and for the comfort of others. People will be eating as we’re having a picnic, and others may have medical conditions exacerbated by smoke. If you wish to smoke or vape, please move to another area of the park and return when you are done.
🎟 No amplified music
Please do not bring bluetooth speakers to the event or play music on phones or other devices. Musical entertainment is being provided towards the end of the day event, and the rest of the time there are various activities to engage in and people to meet and connect with. In an emergency, we need to be able to address the entire crowd quickly.
🎟 Dogs must be kept on leads
We love dogs! This event is being held in a public park, so dogs are welcome but we ask that all dogs are kept on a lead, no matter how well-trained. If that’s a problem for your pup, then we ask that you please leave them at home. Not everyone is comfortable around dogs and there will be lots of food laying around on floor level, so any four-legged friends need to be kept under control.
Anyone in contravention of these rules will have their wristband removed and be asked to leave. Thank you for your understanding and support.
